Grand Marais Arts Festival

July 8 and 9 was the Grand Marais Arts Festival. Saturday was a beautiful day... Lots of people stopped by, and it was a lot of fun! Sales were good, too. But I was awoken at 4:30 the next morning by a rainstorm. I rushed downtown to check on the booth, only to find the wind and rain had destroyed it all. Postcards and greeting cards were everywhere, and everything in the booth was toppled and wet. When we closed down on Saturday, I thought of putting everything in the car, but it was beautiful and calm, blue skies, and the area was crowded. I figured if it looked like rain, I could always come and take care of things when it was less busy. Oh well. :-) Maybe next time.

Coho (Oncorhynchus Kisutch) Macho

I've been sketching Coho today, thinking about the design for the Coho Cafe's t-shirt and coffee cup design for 2006. These initial drawings were done with ink and a small brush, then filled in with watercolor. I've got a better idea now of what I want the final design to look like.
